Upon Arrival is brought to you by a woman named Erin. After getting her Masters degree in Social Psychology at the London School of Economics & Political Science, she worked and traveled throughout Europe and published an article on culture shock. During her studies she conducted in depth research on fellow American women living in Europe and communicated these findings at an international conference in Paris called Bloom Where You're Planted. She's lived in Paris, London, and Munich on several occassions, met many interesting people, and loved being a "foreigner." She received her bachelors degree at Pepperdine University in California where she became committed to exploring and understanding the challenges involved with intercultural adaptation. She is cross-culturally trained by Dr. Robert Kohls, a pioneer in the field of cultural adaptation and is a member of SIETAR - the Society of Intercultural Education, Training and Research. She's also lived in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco and plans to further develop this online resource as a non-profit service in conjunction with a PhD student; if you happen to be a student in this field and would be interested in this kind of work, contact her!
